Maintain Product Groups #
Product Groups & Categories are used to classify products so items which are functionally similar can be displayed together in eCat for easy shopping. Each category is associated with one product group. These should be set up however works best for your company.
Examples:

| Fabric | Grade 10, Grade 11 or Solids, Stripes, Jacquards, Floral |
| Men’s Clothing | Dress Shirts, Polos, Chinos, Jeans, Sportswear |
Use the “New Groups” and “New Categories” buttons to set up groups and categories before importing the product file. Groups must be set up first, then categories. ('New Categories' does not apply if categories are automatically created for your company during file import.)
Groups and categories are displayed on the iPad in the same sequence in which they appear on your admin site. There are two ways to change the display sequence. If the list has fewer than 40-50 items, click the ‘handle’ to the left of the name, then drag and drop it into the new position. For long lists, click the ‘Reorder’ button, enter new position numbers in the boxes that appear to the right of the name, then click the ‘Done Reordering’ button. The items will be moved to their new positions.
Create new groups & categories by clicking the ‘New Group’ and ‘New Category’ buttons.
Edit existing groups & categories by clicking the group & category names.
NOTE! The “Delete” button permanently deletes the category, or the group and all of its associated categories. There is no “undo”!
