Overview #

Both eCat and eCat Online support accepting credit cards for payment, in addition to allowing customers to buy on account. We accomplish this two ways.

First, we allow admins to upload tokenized credit card information via the Uploaded Credit Cards File. You can use this to provide already-approved credit cards for sales reps and customers to use. Second, we can integrate with existing payment gateways, such as Authorize.net, WorldPay, and others listed below. Please contact sales@supercatsolutions.com for a complete list. Credit Card Capture Service Overview #

SuperCat supports secure credit card capture in eCat and eCat Online. We use an aggregation partner, Shuttle, so we can support many different payment processors to give our clients choice and reduce their costs. The current list of supported gateways is below. They are continuing to add payment partners to their list, so we can request new ones be added. But the fastest and most guaranteed route to support credit card capture at POS through eCat would be to choose one on the list below.

eCat's cc capture service has a monthly fee of $195/mo and does not go up as your usage does. There is a one-time setup fee for the initial setup and testing with our team of $750.

Customer File Modifications #

To determine whether a customer is required to enter a credit card, you may specify a CreditCardAuth column on customers.csv. It may be one of three values:

• "allowed"—A credit card may be assigned to orders for this customer
• "required"—A credit card must be assigned to orders for this customer
• "disallowed"—A credit card may not be assigned to orders for this customer. This effectively disables credit card support for this customer.

The default value is "allowed," so if you leave the column out of your customer file, or leave the field blank, a credit card may be assigned to orders for affected customers.

The above allowed/required/disallowed setting affects whether users may/must/may not assign credit cards to their own orders at checkout time.

Charging a Card (aka Capturing Funds) #

The SuperCat solution provides two options for charging a credit card. Many of our customers write orders and capture the credit card information at this time. However, the card is charged at a later time possibly at the time order is shipped or in multiple payments like a initial deposit before manufacturing and then remaining balance at shipping.

The first option is to setup an automated order feed from our servers to your order management system. Then when orders are transferred they contain secure tokenized information about the credit card on the order. You can then process the transaction at a later time through your ERP or payment gateway system.

The second option is to process the transaction (or charge the card) through the SuperCat Admin Console. Users who have been granted appropriate security credentials can see all orders and execute the payment transaction for the card that attached to this order. This can be done as a single or multiple transactions depending on your business practices.
